Shahin Afrassiabi

Shahin Afrassiabi, born 1963 in Tehran, is an artist. He studied for an MA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College. He was one of ten artists selected for the Beck's futures competition. He has exhibited at a number of well-known public galleries, including the ICA 2000, Whitechapel Gallery 2001, the Project Art Centre Dublin 2004.

"This is one of the last images in a series of photographs I took from Google street view. They were taken with a sony cybershot or my phone camera initially from a computer laptop screen and later a tablet screen. The result are images layered with enlarged pixles and glitches, dust, smudges and reflections where the original subject matter, woman in streetview, has lost its coherence."
